Michael DeCataldo is a partner with Sansiveri, Kimball & McNamee, L.L.P. and the managing member of SKM Wealth Management, L.L.C., the firm’s fee-only financial planning arm. He has 30 years of tax, accounting and financial planning experience. Michael specializes in advising high net-worth individuals and closely held corporations in the areas of retirement, estate, gift, financial and business-succession planning. He spent the first seven years of his career as an Internal Revenue Agent for the Internal Revenue Service.

Michael counsels businesses in industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, and distribution. He offers sound analysis of the current tax environment to provide his business clients with maximum opportunities for minimizing tax liabilities. He also works closely with clients to address compliance issues involving the Internal Revenue Service.

As the managing member of SKM Wealth Management, Michael provides comprehensive financial planning and investment advisory services. Having earned the designations of Certified Financial Planner™ and Personal Financial Specialist, he works with clients to establish a financial blueprint to address their goals and objectives, incorporating their individual tax, estate and retirement planning needs. He stresses proper asset allocations and the construction of a balanced, well-diversified portfolio, tailored to the clients' specific goals and objectives.

Michael is past-president of the Rhode Island Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Rhode Island Society of Certified Financial Planners, and the Financial Planning Association. Michael was formerly a Member of Council for AICPA and was one of three Rhode Island delegates.

In the community, Michael served a three-year appointment as a professional advisor for the Rhode Island Foundation. He is a graduate of Leadership Rhode Island, a program designed to educate leaders to serve as catalysts for positive change in Rhode Island. He is a former board member and treasurer for both the Festival Ballet of Providence and First Night Providence.

Michael’s education includes a bachelor of science degree in accounting, summa cum laude, and a master of science degree in taxation from Bryant University.
